At Pure Medspa, we pride ourselves on staying at the forefront of innovation in aesthetics. We’re always looking for the next groundbreaking procedure to offer our patients.

MOXI® laser treatment is a game-changer in addressing early signs of sun damage and aging. This “prejuvenation” treatment is an excellent option for those looking to keep their skin supple and fresh-looking without committing to intense procedures or lengthy downtimes.

How Does MOXI Work?

Considered a gentle laser, MOXI uses a non-ablative, fractionated 1927 nm wavelength. How is this different from other lasers, and what does it mean for you?

Traditional lasers often work by removing or “ablating” the top layer of the skin. MOXI, however, is non-ablative, meaning it doesn’t damage the skin’s surface. Instead, it penetrates the skin’s deeper layers without affecting the outermost layer. This distinction makes MOXI appropriate for all skin types and tones, even darker skin shades.

It’s also a fractionated laser, emitting tiny, pinpoint beams rather than a single, solid beam. This method allows targeted treatment of specific skin areas while leaving surrounding tissues untouched. As a result, the skin heals more quickly.

When the MOXI laser interacts with your skin, it gently kick-starts the body’s natural healing processes, boosting collagen production and stimulating cell turnover. The result? Smoother skin texture, reduced fine lines, a brighter complexion, and more even pigmentation.

Those with more extensive sun damage or signs of aging may opt for a HALO® laser skin resurfacing instead.

The MOXI Experience: What To Expect

In some cases, your provider may apply a topical numbing cream to your face before treatment, but most people won’t need this light anesthetic. Your provider will glide the MOXI device over the targeted areas of your face. You might feel a warm, prickling sensation similar to the feeling of a rubber band lightly snapping against the skin. The entire process is quick, often taking only 20 to 30 minutes.

Expect to see noticeable results in 5 to 7 days, with the full effects becoming evident over the following weeks. As your skin undergoes its natural regeneration process, boosted by the MOXI treatment, you’ll notice enhanced smoothness, brightness, and evenness in tone.

Recovery: Seamless and Simple

With MOXI, there’s little to no downtime involved. Your skin may be redder or pinker than usual, but this aftereffect usually calms within a few days to a week. Some patients might also notice a slightly rough skin texture. This sandpaper feel is due to MENDs (microscopic epithelial necrotic debris), tiny brown spots that appear on the skin’s surface after treatment. These little microdots slough off within 3 to 5 days to make way for fresher, smoother skin. Makeup can be worn beginning 24 hours after treatment.

Frequency: How Many Treatments Do You Need?

Everyone’s skin is unique, and while many patients see a noticeable improvement after just 1 session, achieving optimal results typically requires an initial series of 3 to 4 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart. To maintain that fresh, luminous glow, many patients opt for regular touch-ups.

What Sets MOXI Apart?

MOXI is highly adaptable. Whether you’re a busy professional fitting in a session during your lunch break or someone dedicating a day to self-care, MOXI can be seamlessly integrated into your lifestyle. Its minimal downtime makes the treatment a favorite among those who want visible results without the hassle of extensive recovery.
