Your lips can look more defined, youthful, and sensual with lip filler injections. At Pure Medspa in Medford, OR, our experienced injectors take a subtle approach to lip fillers to enhance your unique lip shape and size. On this page, you’ll find answers to all your questions about lip fillers, from how they work to how long results last and more.
What Are Lip Fillers?
Lip fillers are injectable dermal fillers typically made of hyaluronic acid (HA). This synthetic version of a substance found naturally in the body attracts and holds water for hydration and volume. We inject the filler just beneath the skin, where it provides volume for several months and harmlessly dissolves over time.
Lip fillers can enhance your lips in multiple ways, including:
- Smoothing away vertical lines
- Defining the vermillion border
- Augmenting your lip volume and plumpness
- Restoring volume lost due to aging
Many people choose to combine their fillers with a BOTOX® Cosmetic “lip flip,” which helps the top lip turn subtly outward and prevents it from disappearing when you smile.
A Custom Approach to Lip Fillers
Your lip shape, face shape, and bone structure are unique, and your treatment plan should reflect that. Rather than taking a “one-size-fits-all” approach to fillers, our experienced injectors customize each lip augmentation to the individual, providing bespoke results that enhance your appearance and never look artificial or overdone.
How Much Does Lip Filler Cost?
The cost of lip filler at our Medford medspa varies depending on the product used and the amount injected. Fillers are typically priced by syringe, with most people needing between .5 and 2 syringes in the lips. After consulting with you about your goals, we will provide a personalized pricing estimate.
What Is the Best Filler for Lip Augmentation?
HA fillers typically work best for lip augmentation as they provide hydrating volume with predictable results. Our injectors use only FDA-approved products, including:

What Is It Like To Get Lip Filler Injections?
Your treatment begins with an in-depth consultation about your goals and the best way to achieve them. After determining your custom treatment plan, your injector administers a few injections in and around your lips to carefully place your selected filler. The process typically takes less than 30 minutes.
Are Lip Injections Painful?
Your comfort is our priority. In addition to the topical numbing creams we apply, many fillers contain a numbing agent called lidocaine to minimize discomfort further.
What Is Lip Filler Recovery Like?
For the most part, you can return to work, school, and your usual activities right away. Expect to have some swelling and bruising for 1 to 2 weeks. You can wear makeup as soon as your injection sites have healed, which only takes a day or so.
If you have any lingering soreness, you can take acetaminophen (Tylenol) to ease it. We also recommend taking Arnica montana, a homeopathic supplement that expedites healing.
How Long Do Lip Filler Results Last?
Results typically last between 6 and 12 months, depending on the product. Your fillers will gradually dissolve over time; however, you can maintain your look with touch-up treatments once or twice a year.
