Sculptra® Aesthetic

Sculptra logo

Sculptra Aesthetic stands distinct in the realm of dermal fillers offered at our Medford, OR, med spa. It’s more than just a treatment; it’s an investment in your skin’s future. FDA-approved and clinically tested, Sculptra works subtly and progressively, stimulating collagen growth. This not only addresses wrinkles and volume loss but also reinvigorates your skin’s inherent vitality.

What Is Sculptra?

Whereas popular filler options such as such as JUVÉDERM® harness the properties of hyaluronic acid, Sculptra introduces the pioneering concept of biostimulators. It’s not just about immediate enhancement—it’s a forward-thinking approach to skin health.

Rather than being absorbed by the body like JUVÉDERM and other HA-based fillers, Sculptra’s essence lies in its capacity to invigorate natural collagen production. Collagen is a vital protein—the essence of skin that’s resilient, firm, and radiantly youthful. Comprised of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles, Sculptra’s design ensures it integrates deeper within the skin layers. It’s worth noting that PLLA is a trusted material that’s familiar to the medical community as a material used in surgical sutures.

Women before and after Sculptra treatment

Choosing Sculptra is about envisioning a long-term transformation. Pure MedSpa presents Sculptra as more than just a treatment—it’s a commitment to enduring skin vibrancy. Here’s why:

  • Collagen Boost: Sculptra stimulates your skin’s ability to produce collagen, the essential protein for supple, resilient skin. Over time, Sculptra creates a natural lift and firmness that traditional fillers might not achieve.
  • Progressive Results: Instead of immediate, short-lived changes, Sculptra offers subtle, gradual results. Your rejuvenation unfolds naturally, giving those around you a sense of timeless beauty rather than an abrupt change.
  • Longevity: The biostimulating properties of Sculptra, comprised of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) microparticles, integrate deeply into your skin. This ensures longer-lasting effects, reducing the frequency of maintenance visits.
  • Versatility: While often employed for facial volume and contouring, Sculptra has additional benefits. It can address skin laxity, smooth deep wrinkles, and even enhance certain body areas for a more sculpted appearance.
  • Natural Integration: With Sculptra, there’s less worry about an “overfilled” look. Its unique formula ensures a harmonious blend with your skin’s structure, lending a refreshed appearance without the telltale signs of intervention.

In the hands of Pure MedSpa’s skilled professionals, Sculptra becomes the tool for those seeking a profound yet graceful transformation. It’s not just about looking younger—it’s about rediscovering your skin’s innate vitality and celebrating its potential.

How Does Sculptra Work?

To understand how Sculptra works, you should know basic information about collagen. The fibrous protein resides in a deeper layer of the skin, helping to maintain the skin’s shape and keeping it smooth and hydrated. Age and sun damage cause our skin to lose collagen year after year, leading to wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging. As the body absorbs Sculptra’s PLLA microparticles, it produces more collagen.

What Does Sculptra Treat?

Sculptra is commonly used for the nasolabial folds, also called “smile lines.” Sculptra is also effective when used to treat these other concerns:

  • Hollow temples
  • Marionette lines (“laugh lines”)
  • Sunken cheeks
  • Sagging jawline
  • Neck lines
  • Chin wrinkles

We often combine Sculptra with other fillers or BOTOX® Cosmetic injections for a comprehensive facial rejuvenation treatment.

What Is Sculptra Recovery Like?

Most patients feel they can go about their normal daily activities after Sculptra injections. You may experience some swelling at the injection site on the day of your treatment, but Sculptra is generally considered a no-downtime treatment. Some tenderness, itching, or redness is also possible.

Applying a cool compress to the injection site for up to 48 hours can minimize swelling and reduce tenderness. We also recommend staying out of direct sunlight for 24 hours after the treatment and taking a day off from the gym.

How Long Do Sculptra Results Last?

One factor that sets Sculptra apart from other fillers is the duration of the results. Sculptra delivers subtle, natural-looking results that emerge over several weeks to months after treatment, lasting up to 2 years.
